First Timers - real camera?

i read some blogs of some moms who take amazing photos. maybe you guys could help with suggestions of a cam i can get? maybe used - to get started?what kind of start up $$$ am i looking at?

First of all, what price range are you looking for? What type of camera do you want - one that is a point and shoot or one that allows you to have manual controls? Do you want a camera with interchangeable lens (a dSLR like the Rebel or Nikon D30)?

That would help a lot with what we might recommend. The thing to remember is that in the long run - you can get great pictures from a not so great camera - it's more the operator and how they use it. if you want to grow with your camera I'd recommend a dSLR so that you can have the automatic of point and shoot and manual of dSLR!
